Why Paleo?

I’m a little late with this post but I couldn’t wait to share why we switched over to a paleo lifestyle with you all because IT HAS CHANGED OUR LIVES!

About 2 and a half years ago, we decided that we were finally going to go and see this homeopathic woman in Maryland that we (for years) had heard amazing stories about. We were having some medical problems with my daughter (she was almost 3 at the time) and doctors couldn’t figure out what was going on in her tiny little body. We decided to try this avenue because it definitely couldn’t hurt.

Well. The first thing she did was tell us to immediately switch over to Paleo. She said omit the following foods immediately: gluten, dairy, grains, beans, legumes which include chickpeas, green beans, peas, basically anything in a pod or that grows in water. No peanuts, no soy, no white potatoes (my world about came to an end when I heard because I could live on mashed potatoes!!), no artificial anything and no coffee for the first 2 months. After two months any coffee had to be organic. We could only do natural forms of sugar which were honey, grade A organic syrup, and coconut sugar. She also told us to stick to turkey and chicken for meats because anything else has a hard time digesting in your body.

She told me that I had to do it as well because she needed to see me eating the same thing in order to want to eat it herself. Guys. This ended up changing our lives and lifestyle and has helped us so much. SOO MANY of my daughters medical issues resolved themselves, she started speaking more (she is delayed in speech), and her clarity to be able focus better was amazing.

I swear I didn’t eat for the first 2-3 weeks because I am SO picky when it comes to flavor and texture and I couldn’t find anything i was liking AND I had to learn a whole new way of cooking and that meant making time to prep and cook fresh. I eventually fell in love with it and it became a hobby.

If you are wanting a life change, maybe trying to lose weight the healthy way, try a new way of eating, or maybe just reset your body…I highly encourage you to check out Paleo and maybe try it. I can’t explain how good and how healthy you will feel and the amount of energy you will get naturally is surreal.
